Community Wellbeing Evenings provide a multilayered method to breaking down barriers and developing discussion around the issues challenging community members in rural and remote communities. The mental health messaging, inviting dinner, and lighthearted humour all contributes to the success of these evenings. This approach includes the following but has many more points of impact for community members.
Powerful and lived experienced messages from Wayne Wigham of the Black Dog Institute.
Special guests sharing their stories of hardship and how they overcame them.
Messaging on how to train your brain shows participants how to build resilience.
Local community organisations who deal with Mental Health are in attendance. They are invited so people can talk to people on the ground if they or know anyone who maybe struggling.
