FAR WEST ACTIVE FEST -
Wilcannia, Broken Hill and Menindee
What a blast in Wilcannia, Broken Hill and Menindee Creative Community Concepts had last week!
A big thank you to the fantastic communities who came out in force to make our first involvement in the Far West Active Fest so memorable. The local kids were there for fun games, sausage sizzles, meet and greet sporting stars and the now legendary MALO Republic Colour Run. Loads of free gear were given away courtesy of Kit Bag for Kids Limited and MALO Republic. There was also sporting royalty on hand at each of these events sharing their love of sport and teaching our up and coming Stars! Professional Triathletes Beth and Luke McKenzie spoke about their careers travelling all around the word while former NRL greats Ronny Gibbs, Nathan Blacklock, Wayne Wigham and Dave Elvy ran clinics and spoke about the importance of not only being physically fit but mentally fit too. It’s not everyday you see 6 sporting stars in one community so we were truly blessed to have them all on board.
We must also thank our partners who came together to make these 3 days such a success; Kit Bag for Kids Limited, MALO Republic, NSW Office of Sport, Far West Academy of Sport, Black Dog Institute, NSWRL, NRL Development Western and Mission Australia.
